Kasparas Vingilis - Racer Profile
Kasparas Vingilis is a Lithuanian racing driver known for his participation in the prestigious car endurance competition Ligier JSCup France racing series. Born on 02.09.2003, Vingilis has rapidly gained recognition in the motorsport community for his impressive skills on the track and his dedication to the sport.
The 20-year-old Lithuanian athlete is the only Lithuanian representative in this prestigious series. His team includes two seasoned French professionals, Jean Maurin and Mickaël Petit, both of whom boast extensive racing backgrounds, including participation in renowned competitions such as Le Mans.
The team is racing in the JS2 R car, a track-only version of the famous Ligier JS2 street car that originated around 1970, manufactured by the renowned French racing car manufacturer Ligier
Passion for Motorsports
K. Vingilis has been in motor sports for 5 years, participated in short-distance competitions and dreamed of endurance competitions from the very beginning. He managed to enter and participate in the Ligier JSCup France by qualifying in the driver selection program of Feed Racing in 2019-2020. He participated in the 2022 Euro Nascar season and was taught by professionals.
He is hoping that the Ligier JSCup France will be his way to the European Ligier Cup and then the top level Le Mans competition. As well Kasparas Vingilis’s dream is to take part in the ongoing NLS competitions on the Nürburgring track.
From a young age, Vingilis was drawn to machines, particularly engines. He began riding enduro bikes at the age of 13 and quickly developed a love for driving and tinkering with motorcycles. While he enjoyed motorcycles, his true passion lay with cars, and he started his racing journey in karting. As he gained experience and skill in karting, Vingilis discovered Formula 4 racing, which further ignited his competitive spirit.
Education and A Life of Adventure
Kasparas Vingilis was born in Vilnius, Lithuania, and developed a passion for racing and engineering from a young age. Now Vingilis studies industrial engineering at a university in Bremen, Germany, where he currently resides.
His academic journey also included time spent studying at a school in Switzerland, where he likely further developed his international perspective and language skills. He participated in various camps, including a stint at Columbia University in the USA, military training, bunkers exploration, scouting, and business-related programs. This exposure to different cultures and environments fueled his passion for exploration and learning.
A Calm and Focused Competitor
To maintain his competitive edge, Vingilis dedicates a lot of hours to training in a racing simulator and also focuses on physical training to stay in shape and maintain his athleticism. This commitment reflects his continuous pursuit of improvement and readiness for the challenges of racing.
Despite the pressures of professional racing, Kasparas Vingilis maintains a calm and focused demeanor. ‘I approach each competition with excitement rather than stress, relying on my skills and preparation to perform at my best. Adequate rest and nutrition are key components of my routine, ensuring I’m mentally and physically ready for the challenges ahead’, he says.
